6 ˝”, sev, rec, TET – This big bright yellow
with red-orange eye/edge, was the most admired
“flower” in our garden this past year.
Visitors simply could not get past it, without
stopping for a longer look.
We have also been very fond of it and have used
it heavily in our breeding program.
Truthfully, for us, it is a little bit scape
challenged. Scapes
are a stout 18” which place the blooms just above the
foliage. Although
this is not terribly short, we obviously would prefer
greater scape height.
However, due to popular opinion, we have decided
to release it anyhow.
No doubt, it has a stunning bloom, but we would
consider that mostly a hybridizer’s plant.
Makes vigorous plants that increase quickly.
Fertile both ways, producing a wide array of
gorgeous red eyed seedlings. "Double
Division." |
